Macroverse – Macro Photography of the Invisible Universe Within the Familiar

In the fine art series Macroverse, Roger Holmen invites you into a microscopic universe of form, texture, and memory.
Through extreme macro photography and advanced focus stacking, hundreds of exposures are merged to create stunning detail far beyond the reach of the naked eye.

Using his Sony A7RIII, Laowa 100mm macro lens, and Nisi focus rail, Holmen photographs familiar objects, and transforms them into timeless icons suspended in a pure white universe.

The neutral background strips away distractions, allowing the viewer to connect directly with the object — both nostalgic and futuristic, personal and universal.
It is a series that celebrates design, craftsmanship, and the beauty hidden in plain sight.

Each artwork is available as a limited edition fine art print, designed for large-scale presentation — where every millimeter tells another story.

To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.
