At first glance, there is very little here.

A single dark line.
But within that simplicity lies a landscape shaped across an almost unimaginable span of time.
Sculpted by Time I is the opening artwork in the Sculpted by Time Collection, created among the distinctive red Bohus granite of Ramsvikslandet on Sweden's west coast.
I was drawn to the simplicity of this particular formation. By removing almost every traditional reference to landscape and allowing the rock to meet the clear blue sky, the composition became less about a specific place and more about colour, line and form.
The conditions that day gave me exactly the light I had hoped for. Warm sunlight moved across the granite, intensifying its characteristic red and orange tones and creating the contrast that first caught my attention.
A dark fracture running through the rock becomes the final element — a small mark within a surface whose story began hundreds of millions of years ago.
The result sits somewhere between landscape photography and abstraction.

Sculpted by Time is a fine art photography collection created at Ramsvikslandet in Bohuslän, Sweden.
The collection explores the region's ancient Bohus granite through colour, light, texture and form. Rather than documenting the landscape in a traditional way, the photographs move progressively closer to abstraction — revealing curves, fractures, shadows and traces left by ice, water and weather.
Across eight individual artworks, the warm tones of the granite create a recurring visual language, often contrasted against the deep blue of the Scandinavian summer sky.
Each work is designed to stand on its own, while the collection can also be displayed in pairs or groups where forms and colours continue from one artwork to another.
