The Astronaut – Macroverse I
THE ASTRONAUT
Macroverse I · Limited Edition of 50
A small icon from another time, seen from a completely new perspective.
There are objects that instantly take us back.
The Astronaut is the first artwork in Macroverse, a photographic series exploring familiar miniature objects and the memories, details and imperfections they carry.
Photographed at close range, the tiny marks and signs of age become part of the portrait. What was once a small toy becomes something entirely different when presented at this scale — a character, an object of nostalgia and a reminder of childhood ideas about exploration and adventure.
Against the clean white background, the bold red suit and simple expression give The Astronaut an almost graphic quality, while the visible traces of its past remain an important part of the photograph.
Small object. Big memories. Welcome to Macroverse.
About the Macroverse Collection
Macroverse is an ongoing fine art photography series by Roger Holmen that explores miniature objects through macro photography.
By photographing small and familiar subjects at a scale far beyond how we normally experience them, details that are easily overlooked become part of the story — scratches, textures, imperfections and traces of time.
The series sits somewhere between photography, nostalgia and contemporary pop-inspired art, transforming objects from the past into photographic portraits designed for the wall.
